A Message from the Conference Committee...
Enhance Your Foundation of Teaching in Dallas. While you are enjoying your summer solstice, remember that October is just around the corner. The National Conference Committee invites you to meet your peers October 15-18, 2008 for a little technology, some back to basics, and a look at the future. From the multiple sessions to the business meeting to the collaboration with the ABA, and visits with vendors, we think you will find plenty to use in coming years.
We begin with a bang on Wednesday so plan to arrive early. There will be pre-conference, ABA report-centered, and program sessions. Newcomers are encouraged to attend the Newcomer Orientation. Thursday is full with the Open Forum and Meet the Candidates first thing. Thursday has two teaching competitions. The first is our annual teaching competition sponsored by Cengage. The second, sponsored by Prentice-Hall, is a new competition focusing on teaching in distance education. Friday we have a Master Teacher session and sessions on program assessment from the ABA gurus. Saturday’s sessions are nothing to take lightly. The Writing Workshop is back, along with sessions by employers, and a somewhat new concept – the ePortfolio.
Come early and stay late. AAfPE and Dallas have a lot to offer you in 2008. We look forward to seeing you!
