CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR AAfPE BOARD POSITIONS
 
It will soon be time for nominations for the following AAfPE Board positions:
  • President- Elect (Three-year cycle - President-Elect, President, Immediate Past President)
  • Treasurer (Three-year term)
  • Secretary (Three-year term)
  • Director - Northeast Region (Three-year term)
  • Director - North Central Region(Three-year term)
  • Director - Southeast Region (to complete term that ends in 2018)
  • Director - Certificate Programs (Three-year term)
Additionally, the non-board position of ABA Approval Commission Representative-Associate Programs will also occur. The ABA Approval Commission positions are one-year terms with reappointment to a maximum of three years; ABA Approval Commission positions begin in August of the year following nomination and are subject to the approval of the President of the American Bar Association.
 

All nominations and candidate statements are due no later than June 15, 2017.

 

Step 1

Nominate a candidate. Self-recommendations are welcome. Before nominating someone, please be sure they are from an Institutional-Member school and that they agree to run.

Step 2

Send nomination form and candidate statement to: Bob Mongue, Nominating Committee at rmongue@olemiss.edu with a copy to AAfPE Headquarters at info@aafpe.org.

 
Selection Timetable

 

June 15:

Deadline to receive nominations and candidate statements

August:

Election slate distributed to AAfPE membership and published in The Paralegal Educator (pending publication deadlines)

October 5:

Individual Proxy Ballots due

October 20:

AAfPE Institutional members elect officers and directors at the National Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico

 

Regardless of how long you have been a part of AAfPE or involved in paralegal education, I encourage you to consider running for a position on the board. Here is your opportunity not only to help lead AAfPE, but to contribute and be part of important decision-making processes, which impact paralegal education and the legal profession as a whole.
