A long awaited goal of the AAfPE Education Committee has been reached https://www.youtube.com/user/AAfPEchannel/feed. You can also use the QR code below. We now have our own YouTube Channel where we will be posting both original content and content provided to us by our members. Our channel will also have the links to the channels that we have subscribed to as having helpful content. It is our intent for the majority of our videos to be “unlisted,” which means that they will not appear when someone does a keyword search on YouTube. While we want to make content available to our members we do not necessarily want it publicized to the general public. There will, of course, be content that we will have marked as public that will help to promote AAfPE and its mission of improving paralegal education.
Limited License Legal Technician
Our first piece of original content is the post-conference session from the 2014 AAfPE Annual Conference in Las Vegas on the Limited License Legal Technician movement in Washington State, featuring attorneys Steve Crossland and Paula Littlewood. If you were unable to attend the conference or unable to stay for the post-conference session, you can now see what you missed.
We have also posted an example of the type of video that we are looking for from our members. Thanks so much to Loretta Calvert, former AAfPE President, for allowing us to showcase her video. If you have created videos like this one for use in your courses, please consider lending them to the AAfPE YouTube channel. Please send those videos to the Education Committee firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will get them uploaded to the channel. We will of course credit you with the content but will ask you to sign a release giving us permission to post. You can also send us the name of YouTube channels that you rely on for your course content.
Finally, as part of our initiative to preserve the history of our amazing organization, we are asking you to send us copies of pictures that you have taken at previous AAfPE National and Regional Conferences. In discussions with the AAfPE Board of Directors, we feel that is important to ensure that future generations of paralegal educators know our history, our innovators and our leaders. You can also email the Education Committee with those photos, as well. If you only have hard copies and are willing to send them to us to copy, please contact Kye Haymore, to make arrangements for the shipment of these photographs.
Take a few minutes to check out our site and happy filming!
