Call for Nominations
The AAfPE Board of Directors is seeking nominations for:
- President-Elect (Term: One year; automatically succeed to the office of President for two years; automatically succeed to the office of Immediate Past President for one year)
- Director, Central Region (Term: Three years)
- Director, North Region (Term: Three years)
- Secretary/Treasurer: Keep minutes of meetings; give notice of meetings; approve deposits and disbursements; with the Executive Director, prepare a budget for the ensuing fiscal year; submit a written financial report at each regular meeting of the Association and of the Board of Directors (Term: Three years)
- Director of Communication: Responsible for social media, The Legal Educator, the listserv, webinars/programming, and oversight of the Communication Committee (Term: Three years)
- Director of Educational Credentialing: Accreditation and approvals (ABA), Degrees/Certificates, law school pathways/coordination, and oversight of Outreach Committee (Initial term: One year; Subsequent terms: Three years)
- Director of Educational Development: Modality(ies), ERL; LEX, and oversight of Education Committee (Initial term: Two years; Subsequent terms: Three years)
All nominations and candidate forms are due no later than October 31, 2023. Before nominating someone, please be sure they are from an Institutional Member school and agree to run. Self-nominations are also welcome!
Process
- Complete the online nomination form.
- Upon completion of the nomination form, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the candidate information form. Please forward to the nominee or, if self-nominating, also complete the candidate information form yourself.
- The information shared on the candidate information form will be distributed to the membership so they will know why the candidate is seeking this position, what qualifies the candidate for the position, and the candidate's vision for AAfPE.
Selection Timetable
- October 31: Deadline to receive completed nomination and candidate information forms
- November 1: Election slate distributed to AAfPE membership
- December 1 at 9:00 a.m. ET: Elections open
- December 3 at 11:59 p.m. ET: Elections close
Regardless of how long you have been a part of AAfPE or involved in paralegal/legal studies education, please consider running for a position on the Board.
