CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR AAfPE BOARD POSITIONS
 
Nominations are now being accepted for the following AAfPE Board positions:
  • President-Elect (Three-year cycle: President-Elect, President, Immediate Past President)
  • Director - Pacific Region (Three-year term)
  • Director - Southeast Region (Three-year term)
  • Director - Associate Programs (Three-year term)
  • Director - Baccalaureate Programs (Three-year term)
Additionally, the non-board position of ABA Approval Commission Representative-Associate Programs will also occur. The ABA Approval Commission positions are one-year terms with reappointment to a maximum of three years; ABA Approval Commission positions begin in August of the year following nomination and are subject to the approval of the President of the American Bar Association.
 

All nominations and candidate statements are due no later than June 30, 2018.

 

Step 1

Nominate a candidate. Self-recommendations are welcome. Before nominating someone, please be sure he or she is from an Institutional-Member school and agrees to run.

Step 2

Send nomination form and candidate statement to: Julia Dunlap, Nominations Committee Chair at jdunlap@ucsd.edu with a copy to AAfPE Headquarters at info@aafpe.org.

 
Selection Timetable

 

June 30:

Deadline to receive nominations and candidate statements

September:

Election slate distributed to AAfPE membership and published in The Legal Educator (pending publication deadlines)

October 19:

Individual Proxy Ballots due

November 2:

AAfPE Institutional members elect officers and directors at the National Conference in Newport, Rhode Island

 

Regardless of how long you have been a part of AAfPE or involved in paralegal or legal studies education, I encourage you to consider running for a position on the board. Here is your opportunity not only to help lead AAfPE, but to contribute and be part of important decision-making processes, which impact legal education and the legal profession as a whole.
