Any student who is registered as a full or part-time student in a school that has a LEX Chapter is eligible to participate in the annual LEX scholarship competition. Beginning in 2019, AAfPE will award $1,500.00 to the winner and $500.00 to the runner up to be used to continue the pursuit of the student’s paralegal education. Applicants must complete a LEX Scholarship Application and upload the following documents:

  • An essay of 500 to 750 words (two to three doubled spaced typed pages) on the topic selected by the LEX Scholarship Committee.
    • Essays should be written with standard margins and type size. Exceeding the maximum page and word limits may result in point deductions.
  • A letter indicating the applicant is a student in good standing from a faculty member, or a signed Certificate of Good Standing.
  • A signed Permission to Print form

The scholarship question is posted in November of each year, with scholarship applications submitted around mid- to late January of each year. Scholarships are awarded prior to the end of the spring term. View this year's scholarship question here. Application materials must be postmarked on or before January 14, 2019.

If you have any questions about the LEX Scholarships, please contact AAfPE Headquarters at info@aafpe.org or (407) 774-7880.
